Here's why SITKA made the Mountain Jacket

Mountain hunting comes with its own unique challenges: cold temps, biting wind, rain, and snow. To tackle these varied obstacles, hunters typically have to carry many different items while trying to maintain breathability and–more importantly–stealth and traditional soft shells were too heavy and not compressible. SITKA's goal was to develop a single garment that would be fully windproof, water-resistant, lightweight and breathable all within a quiet face fabric. In short, we designed a jacket you can wear 90% of the time.
